Welcome to the world of toddlerhood, where every day is an adventure filled with curiosity and discovery. If you’re a mama or caregiver of a lively toddler, you know that at this age your little one is all about exploring new things all while their little brains are growing more and more each day. As your little one’s personality blossoms, so does their eagerness to learn and play. To make this journey even more enriching, I have created “The Ultimate Guide to Learning Toys for toddlers,” a comprehensive roadmap for mamas seeking the perfect blend of fun and education.
In this guide, I will cover some of my favorite educational toys specially designed for the curious minds of toddlers. From strengthening essential cognitive skills to enhancing creativity, we’ve got it all covered. Let’s get into it!
This puzzle was a hit with my son! We used it so much that we’ve lost a few letters along the way. With this puzzle, not only can you learn the alphabet but you can also discuss the colors as well as count the letters. My son and I would go through the alphabet one by one, say each letter, and think of an object that begins with that letter.
Out of all the puzzles my son has, this one is his favorite. He would play with this puzzle for hours. This puzzle, just like the alphabet puzzle, can be used to learn shapes as well as colors.
These little alligators are so cool! They are 2 removable pieces: the front part of the alligator has the upper case letter and the back part of the alligator has the lower case letter. You separate the alligators front and back half and your toddler has to match the correct letter together! This really helped my son with those final tricky lower case letters he was having trouble with.
I had never heard of these books prior to being a toddler mom. I love that they can occupy my son during solitary play and when I have a moment to sit and read to him, he is exposed to comprehension, mathematics, and hands-on enrichment.
The busy board is a very hands-on experience. there ‘s buckles, snaps, and buttons. It’s a great option to put those fine motor skills to the test. The only one my son hasn’t mastered quite yet is tying the shoe.
Dry erase child table and chairs
We use this table every single day. He sits there for all his meals, for crayon time, playdoh time, and when we are working on writing his name I pull out the dry erase markers and we can practice directly on the table. I love this table and chairs for its multi purposes.
Bead lacing is another great way to enrich the fine motor skills. The kit I purchased is really neat because it has different category beads. Some beads are animals, some are food, and so on. My son caught on to this activity rather quickly so the next time we bring out the lacing beads I’m going to challenge him to lace one with just animals and lace another with just food!
This puzzle is just an extra recommendation. My son was infatuated with the solar system for a bit so I took it upon myself to find some solar system learning tools. My son is 3 and he knows all the planets of the solar system. I didn’t know anything about the solar system until I was in 3rd grade and I STILL have trouble remembering them all (MY. Very. Educated. Mother…eh, if you know, you know)
Hopefully this list will be a great start to your toddler household. It is amazing to see little ones engage in play all the while they are “fine tuning” their fine motor skills and learning new things. Sometimes I sit back and watch and think to myself “wow, look how much you have learned in just a few short years!”
